Ten percent battery. No charger. Locked out of the home she had contributed to, with the locks changed within half an hour. No money. Two years of legal fight. Homelessness. $20 a week for food.
When Jia read the Phoenix, she said: "Sometimes, Caitlin, before the Phoenix, you have to turn into an Eagle." When an eagle's wings are torn or its feathers broken, it doesn't rebuild them instantly. It molts. It waits."Some women rebuild a bit more slowly," she said. "It's not as instantaneous as the Phoenix. But we are still reborn."

the creator: kristy
A Wiradjuri woman. The first woman in her family to run a business in her own name. Her jewellery sits in the Museum of Contemporary Art. GOMA. The Melbourne Museum.
She spent six years not paying herself. Lived off savings and market cash. Paid everyone else first. But then she finally started to pay herself.
That's what makes her a Creator — not the business she built, but the moment she decided the life she was building was allowed to include her.

the alchemist: kaitlyn
Bought her first salon at twenty-three. She didn't pay herself in those early years. She lived off freezer food so the business could keep cash. She watched friends in stable jobs go on holidays while she reinvested every dollar into something that didn't yet feel secure.
Kaitlyn stretched and regulated at the same time. She felt the fear and did it anyway. That's what makes her an Alchemist — not the risks she took, but the structure she built to survive them.
